An Indian Wedding and Happily lived forever/ever (Domestic violence and Dowry system)

It is very obvious if the topic raises a question in your mind. India is a country where marriages are celebrated like festivals and people spend a lot of money. The environment turns out as spring season. you can literally smell the beauty of the environment. It is the happiest day for many. Not only the bride and the groom but the two families are also happy that day. Because for parents, it's like a dream come true if their children become successful and well settled and marriage is the start of their children's journey with their partners.

Have you ever attended any weddings? If yes is the answer, do you think that why people spend so much amount of money on a single day of their life? It can be justified if the families are rich and belong to a high-class society. But if a middle-class family or lower-class family spend much, then it is not a proper choice, because according to a study families take loans to spend it in a day and fall into a debt-trap. Just think in a way that, if you are not able to spend a lot of money, are they gonna affect your marital life in any way? No, then why we all follow the same trend going on.

When a girl is born in a middle-class family or lower-class family, people around them suggest that they should start saving money for their girl's marriage. Firstly, we should change this mentality and start thinking in a way that if a father spends on his son's education, then he has nothing to spend during the marriage. While a father invests in his daughter's education, it is not at all over because he has to spend a large sum again at his daughter's wedding. This mentality can never lead us to emerge as a developed country and we will always be the same developing country fighting for gender equality. The younger generation has to overthink this topic and make a change in it and the way it has been going these past years.

Marriage is a reason to connect two people and their families. This should not be only for saying, it should be implemented in our society. But the actual scenario is that the way weddings look is totally different behind the scenes. Dowry is the main reason behind this. It is a common headline in the Indian newspapers about domestic violence. Think from the father's perspective who sends his daughter away from him and wishes her a happy married life, but what if it never ends in the way it should have been. What if happy married life forever changes into happy married life ever. It is a shame for our society if these things are happening nowadays also. It raises a question about our education system.
