  This is not the first time when democracy had been murdered in Myanmar. So, it is unlikely to say that Myanmar is an example of Democracy. They gained their independence from the British Empire in 1948 and became a democratic nation. But it never lasted long in their history as, after 10 years in 1958, they were under military control for the first time. It lasted for nearly more than 50 years. Finally, the military dictatorship was officially dissolved in 2011, followed by a general election in 2010. Aung San Suu Kyi emerged as the leader of democratic Myanmar. But again 2021 was the year to be specially mentioned in the history of Myanmar.  The Glacier collapse at Joshimath on Sunday led to a massive flood in the Dhauli Ganga river and caused large-scale devastation in the upper reaches of the ecologically Fragile Himalayas. Glacial breaks off in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. A glacier burst in the Raini area of Chamoli in Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand on Sunday caused a flashflood endangering the life of people living near the river bank. The flood has reportedly caused damage to the hydropower plant nearby. Authorities have sounded a high alert from Chamoli to Haridwar. The trail of this flash flood washed out the under-construction Tapovan-Vishnugad hydropower project on Rishiganga. Over 150 people have lost their lives and over 150 are missing following the massive flood near the power project.
