4g restoration & barring mobile internet services cannot justify, Government's policy against democracy
"The democracy of India represents the world's biggest democracy." This statement is justified because of the Indian constitution, which provides every citizen of India with various kinds of freedom. Indians enjoy those freedoms which are protected by our constitution and have the power to dethrone any government after every five years. All these years, the three bodies Judiciary, Legislative and Executive have been deployed to protects the rights that we enjoy.
Earlier Jammu and Kashmir were given special status according to Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which conferred them to have the power to have a separate constitution, a state flag, and autonomy over the internal administration of the state. The only reason behind the special status was the dispute between India and Pakistan, since 1947. On 5 August 2019, the government of India issued a Presidential Order making all the provisions of the Indian Constitution applicable to the state.
Nowadays social media is the toughest challenge and on a similar hand, it is a boon for our generation. It promotes our freedom to a different level. It has the fastest speed to grow and spread with just a click. It is almost a weapon without giving physical damage. Nowadays it is preferred over any other way to either create awareness or promote hatred. Therefore it becomes very much necessary to gain control over it in tough times. And during the abolition of Article 370, the government found barring mobile services the most ideal way to deal with that situation and now we can say it resulted pretty well.
The government never intended to hurt any of the citizens in terms of their freedom. The earlier prevailing scenario (when the state was having their special status) was worse than whatever it was during the past 17-18 months or will be in the upcoming future. Earlier it was very common to hear about the riots and the curfew, especially in Kashmir. But now the government has dealt with it in a very uncommon way than earlier. Maybe processes matter but in the end, it is the result that decides the praises, and the result is sweeter than the process. Instead of criticizing the government over its all policies, we should support them if they are doing it for the country's benefit. Personally, I think democracy doesn't insist that if you are in the opposition, ts your duty to oppose the government. We should only choose between "right and wrong."
